Our volunteers helping out at other foundation as well

Hello everyone! How's everyone doing around the world today?

This year, our volunteers are not only supporting Dame la ManoĀ but also contributing their time to Corporación Everyday HomelessĀ in MedellĆn—a social organization located in the city center, near the Prado Metro station, in a neighborhood known as "The Bronx."

The name might sound familiar, as it shares a reputation with its namesake in New York. MedellĆn’s Bronx is a challenging place for children to grow up: drugs are openly sold in street markets, many residents struggle with addiction to basuco (coca paste), and the environment can be extremely harsh. With many parents absent or unable to provide safe activities for their children, this foundation steps in to make a difference.

Their dedicated team of social workers and psychologists offers children a safe and nurturing environment where they can just be kids. Activities like football, salsa dancing, English classes, and small outings give them moments of joy and relief from the pressure of survival.

Our volunteers were welcomed with open arms. We’re incredibly proud of their commitment to supporting not just one, but multiple impactful foundations. We're truly blessed by the individuals who have volunteered with Intercambio—they may not change the entire world, but they bring kindness, curiosity, and a willingness to listen and connect with the kids.

Our current team: Zeger (Belgium), Amelia (Australia), and Robin (France) have recently launched an additional project with Dame la Mano. More on that in next week’s post!
