Hike with the volunteering team
Hi everyone!
Besides the work our volunteers do with the different local organisations, we believe it’s just as important that they spend time together outside the classroom. Living together is a big part of that, and it has been great so far, especially now that they’ve moved into a new neighbourhood and a new apartment. (We’ll be sharing a video soon so everyone can see where the volunteers are currently living!)
Another part of the experience is going on small trips, doing sports together, and exploring the city. This Monday, our volunteers completed one of the famous hikes in MedellÃn: the climb up to Cerro de las Tres Cruces. It’s a steep 1.2 km trail known for its panoramic views over the city and the three large, iconic crosses at the top. It’s definitely not an easy hike, but great training for the daily walks from the apartment to the classroom during the week, which, as the volunteers will confirm, are also quite steep!
Our current volunteering team consists of Driss (Belgium), Anna (Belgium, and Jimmy (UK).
You’ll get to know them better in the upcoming video with the official presentation of the new apartment.
Byee!
Alexander
