We present you one of our new volunteers: Jordi from Belgium.

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well!

With this message I wanted put Jordi (one of our new volunteers) in the spotlight, and thank him and his friends.

Jordi has now been volunteering for about three weeks and is doing a great job. He's curious and good with the kids, he's doing all his best to master the Spanish language and he shows a lot of initiative in different areas.

Before his departure Jordi organized some painting sessions with his friends at his place in Koestraat in Merelbeke (yes probably here rings a bell, the same place as the last three editions of our festival).

The idea was simple but original: his parceros made some vacano paintings and before his departure he organized an auction to sell the paintings. To his own surprise, people quickly made offers of 10, 20 and even 50 euros on several paintings and in total he raised 800 euros.

Yes you heard it right: 800 euros. Money we can definitely use for the classes: as it's the start of the year and we need new notebooks, pencils, and other materials for the classroom.
